As an established Autodesk aficionado, you have been managing your users, time has passed and teammates have come and gone or changed projects. It's easy to lose track of which seats you can free up and pass onto new users.
What are usage reports?
As it says on the tin, Usage Reports are insights into how your software is being utilised.
The report covers data points such as:
- Number of days a user accesses the product within the designated time range
- Who holds which products and what version they are using
- Which team the license lives under and what group they are assigned to (if using this function)
- Monthly average days used
- How many tokens used if using Flex Tokens
- Last accessed date, etc.
Where Can I access them?
Within the portal (manage.autodesk.com) head to the Reporting section and select Usage Report.
There is a legacy report titled Seat Usage, but the updated Usage report is far more comprehensive.
Customise your report
There are a number of ways to remove the noise and isolate only the relevant info you are looking for.
Try playing around with these fields:
Add or remove columns
Select date range

What next?
If the report is showing a low number of days using a certain tool, you may want to look at utilising Flex tokens to save you a little money. If a user is spending Flex tokens often, it may be more economical to buy a full seat, or you can remove users who are inactive or barely using the software and repurpose those seats.
You can also export the data to add to your own reporting, but please keep in mind that data can only be collected from users connected to the internet.
If you require additional seats, tokens or run into any issues, get in touch.
