After much anticipation the 2024 ANZ Country Kit has arrived. As with previous Civil 3D country kits, you can get it here. Installation is simple. Download the .exe file and open it once complete. You’ll be guided through a simple installation wizard to complete installation. You may need to restart your computer as part of the installation.
Once installed, you’ll notice on your desktop that you will have an additional Civil 3D shortcut. The original two are metric and imperial. The new one is listed as ANZ. This is the one with the ANZ country kit installed, so you can go ahead and delete the metric and imperial shortcuts.
Security Popup Window
When you launch 2024 ANZ you may see this popup window
This popup is to do with the location the country kit is installed into. Click "Always Load" and this popup will not appear again as the publisher will be marked as trusted by the system.
Default Template Settings
From here, we can tweak some settings in Civil 3D. Type "OP" in the command line and hit enter to bring up the Options window.
In the files window expand Template Settings and Default Template File Name for QNEW. This is where we can control what template is used whenever we create a new file. When you first install the ANZ country kit the default is "_AutoCAD Civil 3D 2024 ANZ Design_RMS.dwt".
We want to change this so hit browse and choose "_AutoCAD Civil 3D 2024 ANZ Design". This one is the standard ANZ template. If you need a specific template for your region or requirements, this is also where you would find your templates listed.
With this, setting up of the 2024 ANZ country kit is complete.
