Issue
Revit 2021 has recently been released and many keen users have jumped in to see what it has to offer. We have noticed a few common bugs so we wanted to make you aware of them before you make the switch. We will be constantly updating this once we find more so please keep your eyes on this thread.
We generally recommend waiting until at least the first hotfix is released before taking the time to install new software so that the initial kinks have been ironed out by Autodesk and you don't experience downtime.
Solution
Revit 2021 Bug #1 - Dimension Text Not Showing Value
When you click on a dimension and look for its true value, the dimension will be off. Sometimes it shows as "0", while other times it shows a dimension that is completely off. This is a known bug and the Autodesk Development Team has been made aware and currently working on a fix for this.
Example:
Please note that this is just an issue within the Dimension Text dialogue box and doesn't actually affect the dimensions. They will continue to display the correct value within the drawing.
Revit 2021 Bug #2 - Realistic Views Plot in Wireframe
If you have a Realistic view in your sheets and are using the batch plot option, those realistic views will turn to Wireframe mode.
For the time being, the only way around this is to:
- Print the Realistic views separately to the other views.
- Open each Realistic view before plotting and they usually batch plot ok.
- Use CutePDF when batch plotting.
- If the realistic views are on sheets, they plot fine.
This happens on multiple different PDF plotters, but we have noticed that CutePDF is able to batch plot without issues, while others cannot.
